Start a QC Session for an Enterprise Imaging Processing Job

Enterprise Imaging Processing Jobs are created in Enterprise, not in eCapture. You can QC Enterprise Imaging Processing Jobs only in eCapture QC. Changes may be made to the output where necessary by reprocessing. Reprocessing output adheres to the specified options; only images (not text, metadata, MHT, or HTML) are re-created.

In the eCapture QC main window, flags are visible; and if desired, documents may be filtered by flags when opening a document session. New flags may be created so that they are available for the session. Filtering is especially useful regarding Exceptions.

New images are placed in new directories underneath the original volume location. Upon successful reprocessing (one or many documents based on selection), new load files are created and sent to the Ipro Eclipse Scheduler for autoloading. The new load files contain records for only those documents that were reprocessed.

When an Enterprise Imaging Processing Job session is opened in QC and reprocessed due to exceptions, the cleared exceptions are passed back, through the load file, to Enterprise Review or Eclipse with the correct “Process Status” and associated flag values.

Note: When all volumes are in progress for an Enterprise Job, the Job cannot be opened until completed.

The fields in the .DAT and.DLF load files, created by Enterprise Jobs, contain custom name support. One of the fields, the ENT IMGING FLAGS field, was added to the .DAT file that is created for each set of completed documents.

For example, you might use this flag to find all documents with Text Cutoff in the image or for locating protected documents that were placeholdered.

The ENT IMGING FLAGS field is a multi-value, semicolon-delimited field of eCapture QC flags. All System flags in eCapture are eligible for inclusion in this new field. This list of eCapture QC flags is provided as a metadata field with each document in the Enterprise Imaging Job; in order to perform queries in Enterprise Review, Eclipse, or Relativity based on identified properties of the document.

  1. Open the eCapture QC main window. For instructions, see Start the eCapture Quality Control Module.
  2. On the File menu, select Create Session for Enterprise Imaging Job(s). The Select Enterprise Imaging Jobs dialog box appears.

  3. Select a Job from the list.

  4. Click OK. The Start QC Session dialog box appears.

Important: For Enterprise Imaging Jobs, you can select only the Flags tab. The Language, Encoding, and Merge Jobs tabs that can be configured for Standard Processing, Data Extract, and Streaming Discovery Jobs do not apply.

  5. Set the appropriate options and click OK to initiate the QC session.

    • Select one or more categories in the Select Document Type Categories list box.

    • Click the Flags tab.

      • Select one or more flags by clicking the flag once (a green + sign appears). The designated category selected will only be shown if it does have the flag.
      • Click the flag twice (a red - sign appears). The designated category selected will only be shown if it does not have the flag.

Note: To clear a selected flag, click the flag with the green plus sign twice or click the flag with the red minus sign once.

  6. After the categories and/or flag(s) are selected as flagged and/or not flagged, click Add to add the session. The session displays in the Documents to be QCed list. There are three columns in the list: Document Type Categories, Flagged, and Not Flagged.

For example, if you want to see all Microsoft Word documents that passed QC, you would select Microsoft Word in the Select Document Type Categories list box and click Passed QC once in the Flags tab. A green plus sign appears.

  7. Click to add those categories to the list whose documents are not flagged as passing QC. The Passed QC flag then displays in the Not Flagged column.

  8. (Optional) Repeat these steps as many times as required to add additional, multiple category/flag groupings. Each grouping then displays as its own line in the Documents to be QCed list. Boolean OR logic is applied for two or more groupings.
  9. If you want to remove a specific grouping, select it and click Remove. If you want to clear all groupings, click Clear.

  10. After you are finished creating one or more groupings for a session, click OK. The eCapture QC main window displays and shows the newly created session tab in the Documents window.

Changing the eCapture QC Main Window Layout

You may change the layout to suit your requirements. Simply point, click, and grab the title bar or tab of any window to reposition it. A directional icon displays as you drag the window showing you the areas where you can dock the window. Mouse over the location in the directional icon and release the mouse button to dock the window. Click the autohide icon to hide any window except the Image View Area tabbed windows. To restore a hidden window, click its tab. The layout is temporarily changed. The layout may be saved to an .INI file. For more information, see Save the QC Interface Layout.
